Win more of the tenders worth winning.
Bidding is expensive; the government's own procurement reform paper called the rules particularly burdensome for small businesses.* Much of that effort goes on tenders that were never winnable: in one contractor's feed we assessed, 23 notices worth £2.46bn on paper came down to four worth bidding for. We show you how buyers score your accounts, which notices you have a real chance of winning, and then help you write the response and staff the contract. Every figure we give you can be traced back to the document it came from.
For UK contractors, engineering and professional services firms of roughly ten to two hundred people that win most of their work through tenders and frameworks.
Four services, in the order a bid happens
Start with how you look to the people scoring you. Then find the notices worth your time, write the response, and staff the contract when you win. Each step uses what the previous one found, and you can start at whichever one you need.
-
1 · Assess
Company assessment
A report on what your filed accounts say about you, using the kind of measures public-sector financial standing assessments use: liquidity, net assets, turnover, dividend history and filing record, plus a risk index. It ends with a list of what to change before the next year end.
You provide your company number. You receive a 30-chart report with an appendix showing how every figure was calculated.
-
2 · Target
Tender pipeline
Every live and upcoming notice that matches your work, valued at the share you could realistically win rather than the headline figure, and sorted into bid now, build a relationship, quick win or leave.
You provide a description of what you bid for and where. You receive a ranked shortlist, a deadline calendar and a list of the credentials that would open up the most work.
-
3 · Respond
RFI and RFP support
Help turning the shortlist into submissions. We record the bid or no-bid decision, gather the inputs with you, draft the response and check it against the evaluation criteria. The submission is yours and goes in under your name.
You provide the notice and your existing case studies and policies. You receive a submission-ready pack and a timetable to the deadline.
-
4 · Deliver
The bench
Recruitment for the contract you have just won. We work out the team each bid would need while you are bidding, put that in the response, and recruit against it when the award comes through. Nobody is hired before a win.
You provide the award letter. You receive the people the contract needs, on the dates it needs them.
Why the reports can be trusted
Most bid decisions rest on experience and a spreadsheet. Ours rest on documents you can check for yourself, and rules you can read.
Every figure has a source
Each number in a report comes from a filed account, a published notice or something you gave us. Where a figure has been calculated rather than read directly, the appendix says how, and how confident we are in it.
Every rule is published
Findings come from a fixed set of tests with published thresholds. The report lists the tests that passed as well as the ones that flagged something, so you can see everything that was checked. The full method.
Rankings, not predictions
Win likelihood, addressable value and priority tiers are there to help you decide where to put effort. The weights behind them are printed on each page. They are not forecasts of what you will win, and every chart says so.
Who we work with
Businesses that win most of their work through public tenders, frameworks and main contractor supply chains: big enough to be scored, small enough to feel it.
Specialist contractors
M&E, electrical, HV, fire and security, civils. Firms whose accounts are scored in selection questionnaires and main contractor PQQs,* and whose tender alerts arrive faster than anyone can rank them.
Engineering and consultancy
Design, survey and engineering practices bidding for framework places and call-offs, where the sticking point is usually scale, location or a missing accreditation rather than capability.
Professional services
Training providers, facilities management and support services firms working through dynamic markets and multi-lot frameworks, where choosing the right lot matters as much as the bid.

Company assessmentCash cover: how credit scorers read your year end
Profit is not what gets scored. Cash against what is due within twelve months is, and most contractors have never looked at their own number.
Company assessmentA £750m framework is not a £750m opportunity
Frameworks are a licence to compete for call-offs, not revenue. How we discount published values to a figure a bid team can plan around.
